Praying with the Psalms

This psalm criss crosses through a lot of territory. The most recognizable is the outright connection to Jesus’ passion with words from his lips addressing His Father with why he has forsaken Him. We know how that worked out. Direct descriptions of the passion from dividing his garments to piercing his hands and feet.

I pray with this psalm when I think I am abandoned but remember God is with me always and my cries for help will be answered according to God’s will, not my own.
