Spiritual Direction

Are you looking for someone to journey with you in your prayer life in the St. Louis area?

What is spiritual direction:The purpose of a spiritual director is to journey with another pilgrim in their prayer life. Spiritual direction pertains to the unique and personal connection each individual has with the divine, the Almighty God who is both creator and Lord. Spiritual Direction is a ministry of holy listening. This is the place where the spiritual director journeys with the directee to find the heart of their relationship with God. The real spiritual director is God and He reaches out directly to your heart. I am more of a companion than a director as we journey together. Spiritual direction is separate from other forms of counseling or psychotherapy which can be helpful. I look to serve those especially who are about to retire or are retired, the divorced and those fighting addictions.

Biography: I retired from computer retail sales in 2017 to devote my time to serving those on the margins and my parish of St. Clare of Assisi in Ellisville. I am a volunteer through the Ignatian Volunteer Corps IVC where I serve at LifeWiseSTL downtown two days a week. At our parish, I serve in many capacities but with a concentration on those things that are associated with the liturgy. Currently serving on the OCIA (formally RCIA) team.

What to bring: You just need to bring yourself and a sense of your pleasant feelings of being happy, alive, open, positive and strong. Plus your unpleasant/difficult feelings of anger, confusion, helplessness, fear, hurt or sadness. The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and determine if there is a good fit.

Spiritual Direction

Is there a fee for spiritual direction? Most often, yes. It is generally used for continuing education, to support others in need or other expenses. If, in your abundance, you can share more, that supports others. The stipend is typically between $25 and $50 per session. As always, pray earnestly to discern the amount that is appropriate.

Coming Soon (Retreats)

I hope that some day I will be able to lead others in a retreat that will assist them in their spiritual journey.
