The fight against the temptations of the devil is a little like going into battle. Psalm 20 is a prayer before going into battle. What better way to fight the snares of the devil than with a psalm directly asking God to protect you from the enemy.
Pray with this psalm both when you seem free of temptation (because the devil is very cunning) and when you are fully under attack.
