Praying with the Psalms

This psalm is a prayer of pleading. Asking God for relief from oppressors. The author lists their innocence verses their foes.

As the requests continue for God’s attention to their needs, the phrase we have heard over the years was to keep us as the apple of his eye. That is, to be cherished above all others. In this case, keep me from the wicked who would despoil me.

We have enough trouble with temptations of our own making but those from others are harder to resist.

My prayer today is to stay focused on and be grateful for the gifts from God.
