Psalm 4 uses the word tremble in verse 5 to describe a person apparently in the state of sin. Offering remedies of sinning no more, weeping within your heart, wailing in bed, offering sacrifice and trusting God.
Many times when confronting my sins, I wrestle with them in my mind. This psalm among the many tactics to address sin, is weeping in your heart. This is where I struggle, in matters of the heart. I like to resolve these things in my head but it is the heart that gives you the full measure of repentance.
God should occupy your head but the great altar to God is your heart.
As the psalm continues, it pleads with the Lord to show us the light of His face but it is the heart that that brings joy. Then you can rest in the Lord and be secure.
I pray this day for the heart to see the Lord’s redeeming acts in my life.
